Events for September 2014

The City of McMinnville Triathlon is a sprint style race that will have participants swim, cycle, and run through beautiful areas of Warren County, Tennessee.  The event begins with a 400 meter swim at the McMinnville Parks and Recreation's Gilley Pool (50 m lap lanes). Once out of the pool, the race will take you into the county on an eighteen mile ride before returning you to the event facilities for a 5 kilometer run. 

Please join us for a Red Carpet Ceremony on Tuesday, September 16th at 4:30 pm at River Park Hospital to celebrate the Grand Opening of their new Cardiopulmonary Outpatient Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

The services of the Children’s Advocacy Center are offered to victimized families at no charge. All services are funded exclusively through grants, corporate contributions and the generosity of our community members.  Proceeds from this event allow us to continue and evolve our services to help protect the children of Warren and Van Buren Counties.  The Children’s Advocacy Center for the 31^st Judicial District is a 501c3 non-profit; contributions are fully tax-deductible under IRS regulations.

This race features a beautiful course that starts in our historic downtown and takes you over the bridge of the Barren Fork River, professional timing, multiple age categories, and t-shirts for all participants while supplies last.

Our primary goal is to raise awareness about quality and affordable healthcare to the community in and around Cannon County. The Health Fair will include free health screenings along with health related sponsored booths.

Isha's World Peace Day is an annual day-long event hosted by Isha Foundation, an international non-profit human service organization. Held in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace, this celebration serves as a reminder that peace is not an ultimate goal, but rather a fundamental requirement for individual and global wellbeing. The event not only provides a platform for thought leaders from diverse fields to discuss the most pressing issues of humanity, but also creates an opportunity to experience peace within and outside.

The evening will include Live jazz music by the Lund/McVey Group, wine and food tastings at a dozen or more businesses, the opportunity to peruse and purchase art created by local Tennessee artists, a commemorative stemless wine glass, and entry in a drawing to win one of several door prizes at the end of the night, including a bottle of Arrington Vineyard wine autographed by Kix Brooks!
