SUMMARY:Red Carpet Ceremony for Homeland Community Bank's WCMS Branch
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a Red Carpet ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday\, August 15\, 1:00 pm\, at the Warren County Middle School (cafeteria). Homeland Community Bank and WCMS have teamed up to make available the program called "Banking on Kids". Cindy Rogers\, Marketing Director for HCB\, provided the following information on the program:\n\n \n\n \n\n "The HCB/WCMS Branch will be a student-run bank. The program "Banking on Kids" was developed to help students to start spending and savings habits at a very young age. The program is designed to help students to become fiscally and financially prudent by operating a student-run bank in their school\, using real money. Every student will have the opportunity to open a savings account through the student-run bank. Our bank day will be Tuesday of each week during their lunch hour. As their account grows they then can come to the bank and open their "own" savings account. Every student who starts saving at our WCMS branch will receive a ledger sheet and deposit ticket of their deposits made into their account". \n\n "HCB believes that young students need to understand the value of money and what it provides in the way of necessities\, the difficulty of earning it and discipline it takes to save it."
