Design Grant Public Info Meeting

Event Description Interested in downtown beautification? Join us for our Design Grant Program public info session. This is a fair chance to learn about our Design Grant program and ask questions before we accept applications in late January. During this session, we will walk through the details of the Design Grant application process, grant eligibility and conditions, and the timeline for the grant program.

Our Design Grant Program will fund exterior improvements to commercial buildings in our downtown Historic District. The program itself is funded by Façade Improvement Grant from the State of Tennessee.

Funding can go towards facade improvements (front, side and/or rear) such as awning removal and replacement, brick cleaning and repairs, window repair or replacement, storefront renovation etc. It could also fund safety improvements – examples such as handicap ramp, railings, backdoor accessible with wheel chair for customers, etc. All projects must start after the grant recipient has signed a grant contract. We cannot provide funding for work that has already started.

Can’t make it – no problem! We will hold another public info session in February to provide a second opportunity for folks.
